Journaling Tips 4 | Digital Scrapbooking Words on Wednesday

Last week I shared ideas for using email quizzes as your journaling. A similar idea is using printed quizzes & questionnaires. Simple Scrapbooks had a Special Issue “Scrapbook Shortcuts with Quizzes and Questions” that I LOVE. To give you a flavor of it, here’s an excerpt:

  • The last person I sent a card to:
  • What I ate for lunch today:
  • Something I just learned:
  • My favorite song this year:
  • The last book I read:
  • What I am wearing right now:
  • The last phone call I made:
  • Inside I don’t feel very different from when I was:
  • The last restaurant I ate at was:
  • My favorite TV show is:
  • You can see the LO’s this quiz inspired on this blog.
The issue includes 25 quizzes in several categories: all about me, friends & family, fun & funky, kids, tell me a story (quizzes to remember your past) Since simple scrapbooks magazine is now defunct, getting a copy of this one may be a little difficult, but some of the editors of Simple Scrapbooks formed an online publishing company, Ellapublishing.
Ellapublishing has a similar e-book: Quick and Creative Quizzes

The book has samples for each quiz. Or you can just get 11 of the quizzes in a “printable” format.
I have both books and the quizzes are NOT repeated from one book to another.
Remember you don’t need to include the entire quiz. Just one or two questions & answers may be the perfect accompaniment to your layout.

Sunnyside Up | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

Hi! Cheryl here, and I’m thrilled to show you some new digital scrapbook creations with a yummy kit (one of my personal favorites!!) called Sunnyside Up. Cara made a terrific page that is actually a note to her son about why she can’t understand how he can skip breakfast. There must be a million of us moms who can relate to that! But, look at this page with that yummy egg peeking out from behind the words, and see if it doesn’t make you hungry like it does for me.

This kit is also perfect for those cute character breakfast photos you have, and Carol used it to make an adorable page with her daughter’s breakfast with that famous Pooh bear Winnie. Just look how well the pink grapefruit and jam elements pick up on her pink jacket.

Did I mention this kit is one of my favorites? It’s versatile and perfect for many events, not just breakfast gatherings. Check out Erica’s page of her precious baby learning to handle his own snacks in his high chair. I can’t tell which cereal pieces came with the kit and which ones are in her photos – so cute!

Speaking of cute, have you seen Fonetta’s Littlest Sunshine? The warm colors and the elements in the kit look amazing with her beautiful daughter’s photos, and those paper frames highlight her sweetness perfectly.

Here’s a closer look at the kit.

Have fun with Sunnyside Up. I’m hungry now, so I’m going to find my favorite waffle recipe.
