Friday Freebie: Gone Fishin’ Word Art | Digital Scrapbooking Freebie

Happy Friday!  Jennifer (aka jmljensen) here to bring you this week’s Friday Freebie!  My husband and oldest son are addicted to fishing, like I am to scrapbooking.  So this week I used Chelle’s fabulous Gone Fishin’ kit to create a word art for you.   If you don’t have Gone Fishin’, head over to Chelle’s Creations’ Store to pick it up.

Click on the image above or click HERE to download it.

Here’s a closer look at the kit and the matching word art.

We would love to see what you do with this.  Make sure you upload your layout to Chelle’s Creations Gallery.   Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapping is Cheaper than Therapy | Digital Scrapbooking Skills

We’ve all had those days: days when nothing goes right, our emotions are raw, and we wish things were different somehow. That’s the perfect time to turn on the computer and get out the digital scrapbooking supplies and make a page. After all, it’s cheaper than therapy, right? Sometimes, getting your feelings down on a page is very therapeutic. Take for example Leslie’s page. She recently moved across the country and has had an incredible workload because of her situation. Understandably, she is tired and frustrated. Rather than yell at her kids or sulk, she made a page using the dark paper and graph paper in Play the Game, CU Bubble Wrap Brushes, flowers from Eeeeek!, and she wrote about how she was feeling. It was the perfect therapy for the moment. LBeahm-scrappingtherapy

I like to do introspective pages on occasion, and I like to use quotes from literature or poetry to express my feelings. Somehow, I find that someone else has already written what I want to express at the moment. Kairyn also likes to use quotes, and recently she was thinking about family members who are far away, so she used a favorite quote to express her feelings.08BookCoverPage By the way, she used Chelle’s Family Tree kit to make her lovely page.

Jan decided to share a poster she made for us. I think it would be the perfect accessory to my home office wall. She used Chelle’s Fill Me In {Marker} alpha and the iOnline kit that was shared with her Facebook fans a few months ago. therapy2

Have you scrapped for therapy lately? It can be very helpful to relieving stress.

Perfect Pairs: Letters From Home & Fireworks | Digital Scrapbooking Kit Combinations

Hello Everyone! Ever take a picture that you just “know” which scrapbook kit or what items in your stash you want to use for your digital scrapbooking LO? Sometimes we need to add other items for dimension or emphasis to make our clustering, titles, or frames even better.  Try looking through your stash for a kit with similar colors. Chelle’s Letters From Home & Fireworks kits go perfectly together. Fireworks makes me think of summer, but Letters From Home makes me think more vintage-y. Yet together, they give you many more options for your designs. Check out these LO from our creative team.

Melissa B (prettypeaches) Melissa shows us a sentimental digital scrapbooking LO of Mommy & Son. Love the clustering. What a little darling!

Kayla (keepscrappin) Kayla takes us to a 4th of July street shot. The caption is perfect, what little (or big) kid doesn’t wait anxiously for the parade candy.

Carol (Iowan) Carol captures her grandson and his fascination with a US Flag. The stripes, the scallops, the stars are just perfect with this patriotic design.

Aren’t these LO’s adorable? All three LOs would work individually with either of the kits, but when combined with another kit, each LO is better, more eye-catching, and has more impact.

The LO’s in the post use the following products by Chelle’s Creations:
Have a great week!
Hugs!

When Halloween isn’t Halloween-y | Chelle Scraps Digital Scrapbooking Inspiration

Sometimes no matter how much you LOVE that new, adorable Halloween digital scrapbooking kit, you just have to go wtih the flow.  My Halloween photos from this year don’t resemble black cats & striped witch’s stockings.  Not even close.  But hey!  The new Rock the Vote kit just happens to work perfectly!

I also used those Photo Stacks from my grab bag.  Wowsers those are HAN-DY! The pre-made clusters didn’t fit with my layout, but since all of the layers are included, I just duplicated a couple of the frame/mask/shadows and moved some others around and now I’ve got a row of 3 instead of just 2 on top of one another.  I can tell I”m going to be using these OVER and OVER and OVER….even just one frame at a time!  And the title alpha is from Fireworks.  :)

But wait!  No journaling?!?  OF COURSE there is journaling.  If you look super close at the “newsprint” to the left of my daughter’s head, you’ll recognize that I “removed” the newspaper story and added my own.  LOL!

OH! it feels so good to scrap again!
