Hello ladies! This week’s Words on Wed topic is Onomatopoeia. At first I wondered what horrible disease it was. LOL I’ve since discovered it using words that suggest the sound of the sense. This idea will certainly add to your digital scrapbooking layouts. I spent some time trying to think of a few. Let me share them with you.
Do you like graphic novels? Remember Batman using Whack! & Pow! Do you have a page to do about your grandparents or other persons from the 1880s-1960’s? Think of radio theater and the sound of footsteps in the audio track, Clomp! Got a layout or pictures of a girl? How about the Jangle of bracelets? Crunch (potato chips), Achoo! (sneeze) Rustle (leaves), Flush (toilet) Whisper (library) Click (mouse), Popped (balloon), Drip (faucet), Sizzle (steaks on a grill), Knock (door), Screech! (Tires and Brakes) Ouch! (pain), Howl (at the moon) or Tick-Tock (clock). Can you just feel your scrapbooking fingers just tingling with ideas. What words would you give an Onomatopoeic flare? Still need ideas? Let me show you the layouts our creative team made.
First, Melissa (pretty peaches) She used Phew & Wah! Check this out. What a cutie! She used Beary Cute Baby Boy Bundle & Basic Black Alpha (recolored).
Jenn V shows us how Whirr! makes us think of helicopters. You’ll have to check out her story. Here’s her LO. She used Rock the Vote & Holiday Stitched-a-bet & CU Vintage Newsprint V1 or V2.
Next we have Mel (KSCroppyChich) She used Ho Ho Ho! and the word “Rip” as she talked about opening presents.
I’ll be watching in the gallery to see what onomatopoeic designs you create. You’re sure to have some great sounds to scrap!
Hugs!
