Eeeek! | Digital Scrapbooking Inspiration

Trick or Treat! That greeting all of Fall adores. The pumpkins. The Carving! The home I grew up in had 4 pillars around a cement porch. I remember many years standing on the cement porch watching Dad carve the faces into our new jack-o-lanterns. We’d get a strand of Christmas lights and change out the bulbs to be yellow. Viola! The fun would now begin! I would be so excited I’d be jumping everywhere. Soon Chelle & her sisters and I would get together, hold hands as we walked down the road from house-to-house. We were about as noisy as 4 girls could be, and then later we got to have the boys with us. Chelle’s brother and my brother. We’d run and skip and scream like banshees because it was Halloween. Our sugar rush was very high. We knew which houses we wanted to go to because they had the ‘cool’ or ‘most desirable’ candy. I don’t do much with the decorating any more, but our neighbors across our breezeway and put up a spooky house banner, 3 skulls — in glitter colors, a green mummy with spider webs & spiders. Just this week, he added a lovely zombie that swings out from under the stairs. We are in Halloween heaven — and that’s before you ever get to our door. LOL
When I saw Chelle’s newest products, I was so excited. The fun side of Halloween. I couldn’t help but feel my day lighten up as I watched Let me show you all of the coordinating products: Eeeeek Bundle, Eeeeek Scatter (FWP) Eeeeek Kit, Eeeeek Painted Papers, Eeeeek Word Art, Carve It Up, & the Eeeeek freebie.

For our designer & CU friends, she released CU Layered Folded Ribbons V2. Last night was Creative Club Digi Designer Edition monthly tips & tut chat. Laura Coyle presented a demonstration on Adobe Illustrator CS6 pattern making. It was soooo interesting. I learned a ton. If you want to design your own stuff, CCDDE is THE way to go. Join today! Next week we have Q&A on 10/17.

All Hallows Eve | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

It’s October, and all over America store shelves are full of decorations for Halloween. In just a few short weeks, children will be dressing as characters and asking for treats while their proud parents snap photos of their cute little guys and girls. Chelle’s Creations has the perfect kit for those photos. It’s a Halloween kit with a trendy, vintage feel called All Hallows Eve, and her team of creative layout artists have made some digital scrapbooking pages to show you the range of  layouts that can be made with her kit.

First, Karen had a photograph of her boys proudly showing off their pumpkins they had carved. She used a multitude of the colors and papers in the kit, and the tree she used as an accent is one of my favorite pieces. Look at that crepe paper that is gathered and stitched – Karen’s shadowing of it is perfect. It literally pops off the page.halloweenKaren Next, Lynett had some pictures of her dog Minnie dressed as a penguin that she scrapped. Since her dog refused to walk with the penguin hat on, it was an easy task to get the dog to pose, and she used the green and black papers in the kit to make the perfect page. I love the square holes cut in the green paper that allow the black to show through, and that key is another one of my favorite elements in this kit. Lynett also used Chelle’s newest alpha to make the title.minnieasapenguinLynett Finally, Shanell used multiple colors of the kit on her page about the pumpkin carving traditions in her family. The title is made from two of the three colors of alphas included in the kit. I love how the angles of all the elements on the page give it a whimsical feeling overall. And, I like how she used the buttons in various colors to fasten the pumpkin, flower, and ribbon elements to her page.pumpkins-2009Shanell

This is a classic kit you can find in Chelle’s store at Scrap Orchard, and here’s a closer look. The image is linked.cc_allhallowseve_preview_2post

Fill Me In Playdate | Digital Scrapbooking Inspiration

Hey! I love to read! Let me just start out with that. I’ve had eye-glasses since I was 16 years old. Almost 30 years. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve had a hard time reading because I wasn’t able to see as clearly and my tri-focals had to be in just the right spot to read. Yesterday I was reading a 2-book series by Carla Kelly (Borrowed Light & Enduring Light) They take place in SE Wyoming and I had read about 1/3 of book one. I usually read in the bathtub, but I had an illuminating thought last night. If I could hold the book right in front of my nose in the tub and see without the eye-glasses, I could do that in my bed. LOL! It’s only taken me years to discover this obvious piece of wisdom. I’ve always had to use my glasses to read street signs, etc, and it just didn’t occur to me….duh! So I’m guessing you’re laughing at me and you should be be….  Long story short, I read all night. I finished book 2 this morning at 6:30 A.M. I had truly missed reading. I love “holding” the book”. I’d been considering a e-Reader, but didn’t want to lose that “piece” of myself. So here’s my thought for the week….sometimes the idea for a LO has been in front of your nose all along…. and my advice? Well, don’t wait 30 years to figure it out!

Wait, I have to tell another funny on myself. As a telephone agent (survey taker), I type what I hear all day long. I’ve got LDS General Conference on and I am listening as I write this post. So if suddenly I sound very profound…. I hope it’s me typing and that I don’t start plagiarizing a talk. LOL

Chelle’s been busy doing 2 new alphas for us this week. Fill Me In {Bundle}, {Marker} and {Pencil}. You can get them as a bundle or individually. I’ve linked up the images for you below.

Drips! Splats! For our CU Friends, Chelle offers CU Splats!
Chelle provided not 1 but 2 Digital Scrapbook Tutorial: They too are linked below.

As a reminder, Chelle provides this you-tube tutorial on what to do when doodles cross over the edge of a paper.

If your mail client doesn’t play friendly with the videos, you’ll find all Chelle’s videos on her You-Tube Channel.

In our newsletter’s this week, Chelle hooked us up with a link to make the “Family Banner” hybrid project. It has so many applications, but I see it with a Christmas or Thanksgiving application. I”m sure you have ideas a plenty.

Now let me show up some great inspiration from our creative team!

Unlikely Pairs: Ladybug Hugs & Apple Of My Eye | Digital Scrapbooking Kit Combinations

Hello Everyone! Today we are looking at some LOs comparing two of Chelle’s recent kits: Ladybug Hugs & Apple Of My Eye. These two kits are so cute together. Dagmar (dagi) one of our guest CT members created this delightful LO using them. The top picture shows their beautiful eye’s and isn’t the kiss just adorable? Love the banner and clusters.

Heather (snowdrop) created this Disney delight with Snow White. Love the clustering, the use of the flower paper, ric rac and the circle full of multi prints, scallop-shadowing on the edges, but my absolute favorite is the mirror in the background reminding us we are all the fairest of them all.

Mary (plumdumpling) show us her visit to Nauvoo, Illinois. Love the sunbonnet on the little girl. What a cutie! The cluster on the bottom right where she combines all the elements from both kits. A lovely family LO to match the tag inviting us to join them them as they “love to see the temple.”

These layouts will surely give you many ideas for ways you can combine Chelle’s Creations. Just click on the image of Chelle’s products. I’ve linked them up for you.

2013 Calendar Playdate | Digital Scrapbooking Inspiration

Hello Ladies! Calendars…. I love ’em. I hang 1 in my bedroom, 1 in my kitchen, 1 in the office, and I use 2 for work. I love to put stickers on my calendars to mark the passage of time until the next payday. I use the “event planner” in Hallmark Card Studio 2012 to enter all the birthdays and anniversaries in my extended family. It keeps track of that information for me and I can print any calendar in the past and future and it updates all the information. I could print the month I was born. So… I’m going to be figuring out how to use that calendar and use Chelle’s toppers. A goal for me.

It’s the Orginal Scrapbook Expo this weekend and the first Digi Scrapapalooza: Utah 2012. So we’ve had a light week. We weren’t able to send out a newsletter this week (9/27).

Let me show you Chelle’s 2013 calendar’s that you can add your images to.

For our CU Friends, we have CU Retro Alpha Doodles.

Kayla (keepscrappin) made a calendar front & back freebie for us. Just click on the image to download it.

Play the Game | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

I’ve just spent the weekend visiting one of my children at college (hint: it’s an SEC school, and I now own a cowbell). When I was given tickets to the football game, my child said, “Mom, the tickets are on the 50 yard line – you’ll love it!”  So, I dressed in school colors and my husband I traveled to enjoy this experience with our child. What I wasn’t told was that the seats were a few rows down from the very top of the stadium. I could barely see the players on the field, and my ears are still ringing from cowbells, but I have the sweetest memories and some awesome photos of my child enjoying college football. And, since Chelle has this terrific football themed kit called Play the Game, I am going to have a digital scrapbooking page finished with my precious memories before this day ends.

Some of Chelle’s friends have been enjoying this season, as well, and have been busy with this kit. Kassie’s loved one had a special encounter at an ESPN event and met Kirk Herbstreit. How exciting that must have been! Here is her page using Chelle’s Play the Game kit with the green and yellow team elements: meetingkirk-2KassieMary used her pictures of her supporting the Bears to make a great page with Chelle’s kit. I love how this huge kit has multiple team colors in it, and Mary has used the blue and orange elements together on her page, matching her team’s colors.bearsloveMary

Fantasy football is really a lot of fun, and Karen loves the online draft. She captured some pictures of her children watching the draft and using Skype to communicate with other fantasy players. She made a great page using the blue and green elements and papers with the footballs.fantasty-footballKaren Here’s a closer look at the kit in the market along with the Game Day Bundle because football always means food, too.cc_playthegame_kit cc_gameday_bundle

I’m off to scrap my game day pictures. Working with this kit might just be as much fun as going to the game. I get to relive the experience all over again through my pictures!

Gallery Standouts | Digital Scrapbooking Inspiration

Hey ladies. I’ve just been looking through all the LO’s that have been submitted to the Chelle’s Creations Gallery at Scrap Orchard. If you are looking for inspiration, look no further. First Up is this precious little face that came in contact with her brother’s hockey puck!  HTEW’s “He Shoots, he scores?” used Chelle’s Penalty Box {& Penalty Box Quickies} to make very expressive LO.

Amber565 made a LO using Chelle’s Oh Snap! products {Oh Snap!, Oh Snap! Words Bits, & Oh Snap! Quickies} that I’m sure is the opinion of many little people who have had their pictures taken over and over and over again. Her “Mom’s Gonna Snap!” gives us a perhaps a truthful look at our inner photobug.
Jac gives us a hybrid idea. She used Chelle’s Midnight Crow Reloaded & Midnight Crow Word Art to make this mulling spice drink.
Vanilla Designz used Chelle’s Bloomin’ Kit to create this delightful LO. Bloomin is available to those who’ve registered for Chelle’s Newsletter. It’s a free birthday download.
Shari used 3 of Chelle’s products to create this “moving” LO.  Fly Little Birdie, Leafy Treetops {& Leafy Treetops Quickies} & Vrooom! Bundle {& Vrooom Word Art} Isn’t it fun?

I hope I gave you some inspiration! I really enjoy looking at the galleries. I enjoy seeing what everyone has created with Chelle’s Creations.

Apple Of My Eye Playdate | Digital Scrapbooking Inspiration

Hello Ladies!

Have you seen Chelle’s newest kit? Love it! Love it! Love it! I remember the apple trees in our garden and around the house. I just loved those little tart green apples with salt sprinkled on them. I could eat them one after another. I would have to make myself stop eating them so I didn’t have some ‘natural’ consequences. My grandmother Mon, had a couple of crab apple trees. I think I tried to eat them once, but then we figured out how much more fun it was to stomp on them. Poor Grandma & Grandpa. They got to see all of us kids, but I don’t imagine they enjoyed the squashed apples on the sidewalk. Seems like we got smarter and jumped on the road so we weren’t in trouble. LOL! Let me show Chelle’s barrells of {apple} fun. The Quickies are FWP of the bundle. Hint! Make sure you snap the blog freebie also. I’ve linked them all up for you, just click on the images.

Chelle also created a new Digital Scrapbook Tutorial on Isolated & Selective Color. You can watch it by clicking on the video image.

For our CU friends, we offer CU Crepe. You’ll have to check it out.

Let me show you the absolutely darling inspiration from our Creative Team.

Indian Summer Playdate | Digital Scrapbooking Inspiration

Hello Friends! Indian Summer is a favorite time of year for me. I love FALL! College Football, Tailgating, the World Series, temperatures dropping, and watching the leaves change from green to the brilliant hues of Yellow, Orange & Red. For many years, I lived in a community where the maple trees had both a green and a deep plum magenta leaf. When I first saw Chelle’s kit, I was immediately drawn to the magenta flower with the yellow in the center. It made me think of many “Decoration Day” flowers we take to family headstones to honor and remember our family. We put a lot or orange or plum/magenta on our male ancestors. Oh My Gosh! Do you need a new fall siggy? Chelle has you covered there as well. Let me show you you the goodies of the week.

Chelle has also been busy working on some fun and exciting CU items. I haven’t shown you some of them because we’ve been canning. Last Saturday Chelle canned salsa (40 quarts) and I was did (65 points) of beans. I know she’s been canning beans, corn and peaches also. Here are the CU products she’s released since I last did a playdate.

The first video explains why she created the Indian Summer Kit. Then Chelle has 2 new videos to help you with your scrapbooking. Here’s a link to each of them and to her YouTube Channel. Just click on the image.

Midnight Crow | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

The first breeze of cool air blew into my neighborhood this week, and it really made me excited for Fall and all that is special about this season. I love going to pumpkin patches and picking out a special one to carve, and I love getting lost in a good corn field maze. Chelle’s classic kit Midnight Crow is all about these good things of the season, and her creative team members have been playing with this kit this week to show you its possibilities for your digital scrapbooking layouts.

Mary and Jenn love to go to the pumpkin patch like I do, and they each made new pages about their experiences in different pumpkin hunting episodes. First, Mary’s page tells a story about her little guy picking a pumpkin as large as himself! Look at that photo of the pumpkin in the wagon with him. There’s barely room for him! And, apple cider donuts sound like a fantastic idea for a treat. I love the blocked layout pattern she used and the word art for the title.pumpkinpatch2009MaryJenn’s page tells a similar story to Mary’s. Her daughter also wanted to pick one too large to carry. I think all children must do this as I’ve seen the same thing happen with mine. Look at that gorgeous, large photo with all those pumpkins begging to be picked, and her clusters of pumpkins, flowers, and hay around the page really accent her photos well.pickmeJennSFinally, Kayla took a little different approach. She had a lovely photo of herself that she used to make a page, and the Midnight Crow kit was the perfect choice. The colors in the photo and the kit match perfectly, and I love the way she made the page have a quilt-type feel. I also like the way she used the cardboard paper behind her photo and blended the photo into it so that some of the cardboard texture would show. Me_Nov11_webKayla

I’m sure you will have some photos of activities soon that will be begging for this kit, so let’s take another look at it in the market. Here’s the kit and the Word Art. The images are linked.cc_midnightcrow_kitcc_midnightcrow_wordart_preview2post
