Hello Scrappers! I turned my calendar to April this morning and realized Easter is coming up. I wanted to give you some digital scrapbooking Easter hybrid ideas you can use in your celebration. Let me show you the goodies. (btw, the product links are at the bottom of this post.) I know you can have some fun this these bright, fun ellies & papers.

First, Carol (Iowan) made this hoppy-happy card. (say that 3 times fast… lol) She used Hippity Hop Hop!

Next, Kimberly made this cute basket using The Carrot Patch. Isn’t the front of it adorable?

Last, Krista made some gift boxes using Hippity Hop Hop also. Can you say Easter Egg Hunt?

Best Practical Jokes | Digital Scrapbooking Resource Ideas

Hello Friends!

Are you part of a family who loves joking around? Are you always pulling a prank on someone? Is April Fool’s Day your favorite holiday? This week we challenged our creative team to tell us via a digital scrapbooking layout about a funny moment in their lives. Let me show you what they came up with.

First, Roxana’s LO is a local political story. According to the latest news the organization/politican in charge of designating areas between the 2 ares of the city, said we would now be part of Surco and we (the residents) are all to decorate street signals, logos, banners and topiairies that are planted all around our neighborhood with “Surco.” I wonder if he realized we were 4 miles a part.

She used: Lucky Me & the arrows from Putt-Putt.

Tammy was watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets with her son. During the movie, Harry is transported into the memories of another student and the scenes are in black and white. My son asked why the scenes were black & white, but Harry was still in color. I answered that the world used to be all black and white – you know, like when you see old photos. Then one day, the world turned colored. That’s why when I was a kid, there are black and white photos and then all of a sudden, they are in color. I felt so bad, because he really believed me! Poor guy…we still joke around about the world being in black and white in the “old days!”

She used Rainbow Neutrals, Game On, Jump Zone, Basic Black Alpha, Wet Paint Alpha.

Jenny’s kids got the best of her. Brayden and Tony like to play jokes. Last year the joke was on me. After breakfast I felt that Brayden was watching my every move, so I was sure that I was in for something. I went to go brush my teeth. The second I put my toothbrush in my mouth, I spit out the toothpaste. I turned around and they were both laughing at me. Brayden giggles and says “We put salt on your toothbrush!” He was so proud of his joke. The look on his face was priceless.

She used Pearly Whites.

Last I have Mel N. Her practical joke is that each year at Boy Scout camp someone’s tent goes up a tree. No one claims responsibility but miraculously it keeps happening!

She used the Great Outdoors Bundle.

Using Text Messages in Scrapbooking | Digital Scrapbooking Resources

Today I wanted to write about using text messages in your digital scrapbooking. Texts are such a part of our “smart” and everyday lives. 2 of my nieces actually taught me how to text. (not Chelle) We had a question and answer thread in our forum about how to move the text image so it can be inserted into a layout. This is how Kimberly (enjoyyourpix) explained it. {Thanks to her for the assist in explaining it.}

Screen shot is your best friend. Do you have an iPhone? If so, all you need to do is line up the text you want to save on your screen and hold down the power button on the top and the home button. The screen will kind of flicker/flash. If you go to your camera roll, you will see that the screen shot is in your camera roll. Move it to your computer like you move your photos and you are good to go. It is a png file.

Now let me show you the layouts the CT Ladies created. This is by Jan (QuiltyMom). She used Get Well Soon! Aren’t the x-rays a great addition. They really add depth to the layout. The arrow is from Big City.

Next, Heather used her text messages about homework and a conversation with her son. I think children everywhere can multitask homework and a video game. LOL She used Back 2 School.

Next I have Helen’s text message about winning the Lottery! Isn’t this a fun layout idea? She used Money Money. Papers and flower from CTR {Trek} and the alpha from Pearly Whites

Hi Everyone! I’m here on one of my off weeks – this is Jenn, jk703! I used to be super duper crafty, but after kids, I lost interest in the glue and all the clean up! That’s when I became obsessed with digital scrapbooking! Recently, I did something that I’ve never done before! So, today, I’m going to share my story – Ideas & Resources: Printed Guest Book!

I’ve been scrapping for a few years now, and have printed my digital pages. I was thrown for a loop when I was asked IF I could create a special gift for my husband’s cousin. A Guest Book for her wedding. Hmmm….I needed to create a masterpiece! Well, I took on that challenge and it was a bit of a stumble for me to start. I scrap 12×12, but the book was going to be 8.5 x 11. I was limited on the pages, and what pictures would be included. What really through me for a loop was that I was scrapping for someone else, and I was completely worried she wouldn’t like our gift! But, after working hard, getting feedback, I loved the book! I’ve only included a few of the pages here, but I wasn’t disappointed in the least! I even mentioned and shared my Album with Liz of Scrapping with Liz, so maybe in the future there might be templates available. Check this out!

I’ve tried to share the photos with allowing for some privacy, so I added the information to the pages. Hope you understand. This was a Lay Flat printed book from My Publisher. First page uses Love Grows.

I lightened this picture up a little, just to show the detail. I added initials inside the little heart stamp. Just to add a little personal touch. Kit: Love Grows.

This page was a bit tough for me to create, only since I wanted to have the writing lines on each side, as well as keeping the couple intact. I was trying to mix up the formats of the pages, and it worked perfectly in the end. Kit for this page is Traveler.

This next page uses In The Backyard. Working with the photos and colors, this one really was a fun page.

Here is a detail shot of the dandelion seeds that are on the lined side of the page. Faint, but I didn’t want to distract form the message being left.

Trying to make the book continuous, yet different for every page depended on the coloring of the photos and what layout I finally settled on. I did’t want every page to be creme or pale colors, so I tried to mix up the colors. Kit Used: Toil and Trouble.

Another page with some details, but mainly the photos take center stage. Kit Used: Apple Of My Eye.

There you have it… Ideas & Resources: Printed Guest Book. I loved the book so much, that I wanted to keep a copy for myself! I was so excited when they were delivered!

Oh… She LOVED the book, and so many people commented on it at her wedding. To me, and to her family! It was a special, one of a kind item that she can treasure.

Resolutions! For or Against? | Digital Scrapbooking Resources

Are you a resolution setter or are they a waste of time for you? Maybe you sit somewhere in the middle. I’m definitely in the middle category. I think it’s good to always challenge myself with daily exercise, I don’t think I should set out to do it on January 1st. We challenged our team to show us what they think about resolutions! I purposely left the instructions rather vague, as I wanted their unbiased opinions. Here are their ideas.

Roxana interviewed her son. English is a second-language for him, so writing everything down as he said them, adds to the story her layout tells. She used Apple of my Eye, AOME Bonus Alpha, Buttoned, and Scribbles Alpha.

Jan has a definite opinion about resolutions. She used O Holy Night to make her thoughts known.

Karen listed her resolutions using this fancy layout. She used Berry Berry Blue to make her feelings known.

There are lots of ways to scrap your resolutions. With pictures, without, large letters or small and delicate. Why not do a layout today or go back to January of 2013 and see if you are still For or Against them.

Christmas Makes Me Think Of… | Digital Scrapbooking Words On Wednesday

Hello Friends! It just 2 weeks until Christmas, so I posed this question to our creative team, “Christmas makes me think of…” and challenged them to create digital scrapbooking layouts using it. As always, they really came up with some great ideas. Let me show you.

First Donna (djp332) I really like the blocking in her layout, and now I want to create a sandman not a snowman. LOL! She used At the Beach & We Wish You A Merry Christmas.

Melissa N (KSCroppyChich) tells us that Christ is what she thinks of. She used O Holy Night & O Holy Night Word,

Helen (winipeg1) said Christmas makes her think of decorating the tree and enjoying it through the remainder of the season. SLove her clusters and use of the “blue” colors in her layout. he used Capture December, Give Thanks Alpha & Ho! H!o H!

Leah (CatLady) Created this layout from Norlandia & Norlandia {Snowflakes} I like her cluster with the snowman and the little one who is sking. The snow elements are a really pretty backdrop.

Kimberly (EnjoyYourPix) created this layout using Taste of Home & Fill Me In {Marker} Love the picture of her two kids together. Love how she pulled the yellow color into the layout.

Kayla (KeepScrappin) She used Give Thanks for her layout. I really like the use of the big picture and her cluster. Isn’t it fun to look at the feast all laid out for us to salivate over?

Yummy Yum! Create you layouts and load them into the gallery. Can’t wait to see the yummy food your family enjoys!

Thanksgiving Hybrid Projects | Digital Scrapbooking Resources

Hey Everyone!

I’m amazed that next week is Thanksgiving here in the U.S. I’ve got some ideas from the Creative Team for hybrid digital scrapbooking projects you can create. Treat bag toppers, banners for your windows, invitations and thank-you cards, our ladies are getting it done with some great ideas for you. All of the ladies’ used Chelle’s Give Thanks kit.

Kayla (keepscrappin) made this treat bag topper. I love that phrase, “Gobble til ya Wobble.” That’s perfect! Anyone else want some popcorn, pretzels or candy corn? Yum!

Then we have a card by Lisa (kelseyll). Cute cluster.

Karen (zippyoh) made this wonderful card. I love that she used the “little people” included in the Give Thanks kit.

Last we have Kimberly (enjoyyourpix). I ADORE the banner she created. It looks amazing with her mirror in the background.

Chelle’s You Tube Channel | Digital Scrapbooking Resources

Hi Friends!

Have you watched any of Chelle’s digital scrapbooking tutorials on her Chelle’s Creations You Tube Channel? They are about so many different topics. Most recently, “How To Digitize Autographs” to “Turning Summer Into Fall.” I can encourage y’all to go and view them, but I think the best idea is to have our CT Team tell you their favorite tutorial & what they learned from it, along with their layout.

Jenn S (JennSchultz) is up first. She used “Digitize Autographs” video. Check out the autograph in the center from Mary Poppins. Jenn used Letters From Home & Love Grows to create her layout.

Kayla (KeepScrappin) used Chelle’s Align & Distribute video to quickly add the brads to her layout. She used Fly Little Birdie (retired), About A Boy, & Game On Alpha.

Tammy E (craftytam) said, “I’ve learned so much from Chelle’s YouTube videos. I love her teaching style – she is very thorough and walks through things step-by-step. I can (and did) pause the video so that I can complete the steps. I have used a QR code on a page before, but it was a hassle to do. Chelle’s Digital Scrapbook Tutorial: Adding Video with QR Codes made it super simple!” I used One Year Older for this layout.

Last Donna P (djp332) also used the same You Tube video as Tammy, “Adding Video with QR Codes,” for her layout. She used Here, Kitty, Kitty (retired) and CU Watercolor Brushes to create her layout.
