Chelle’s Classics: In Harmony

Chelle’s Classics: In Harmony

Hello! It’s Jenn S. here today to showcase one of Chelle’s classic kits: In Harmony.  Every month we choose a classic kit and give ideas for creating both themed and non-themed layouts with the kit. This month the creative team really outdid themselves creating some fresh new layouts for inspiration.

First let’s look at the themed layouts following the music theme of this kit. Here’s one from Cara. Check out that rocking blend!

And here is another one from Melissa. Notice the fabulous clustering!

Now, maybe you don’t want to create a layout that has to do with the theme of the kit. Creating non-themed layouts really stretches the use of your kits. A great kit has lots of papers and elements that can work for many things. This kit is no exception. Here’s a non-themed layout from Roxana. She managed to do a non-music themed Disney layout. I love the colors she chose!

And not to be outdone, Jenn K made a two page spread of her boys. I love the blocking and blending she did!

So, you see how you can use the same kit for so many different types of layouts! Here’s a closer look at the kit:

Have fun getting the most out of your kits!

Gallery Standouts!

Hello! Roxana here with the gallery standouts this week. I was supposed to choose just 3 layouts from Chelle’s gallery but it was really difficult as there were awesome pages this week and I had a hard time picking just 3, so I picked 4 LOL!

The first one is  Out like a Light by jmljensen. I love the simplicity of this page, the great blocking  and  fantastic title; the doodles framing the page and the b/w pics are perfect touches to this LO.

Wild Thing by Sagediva2. Again, loving the blocking and her fantastic journaling, and I really like that she added that cute hippo to the title, looks fabulous and perfect to the theme!

Third My Car by WendyW. The papers chosen for the background are just perfect. Love her amazing clustering, and that there are so many details to look at in this layout.

And last but not least Touque Therapy, a beautiful page by Jaye.  Great clustering on the corner and I just love how she journaled her story, definitely something worth to be remembered.

All images are linked so you can leave some love. And keep uploading your layouts to Chelle’s gallery, you could be the next Gallery Standouts!

Scrap Your Videos & WIN CHELLE’S STUFF

Scrap Your Videos & WIN CHELLE’S STUFF

At the Scrapbook Expo last month, I saw the COOLEST thing. A way to scrapbook your videos! I don’t have a lot of videos…mostly photos…I am a scrapbooker afterall. But somewhere along the way digital cameras became capable of shooting little videos. So I made a few little videos now and again. But they’ve sat collecting dust on my hard drive…UNTIL NOW.
I was SO excited about what I saw at the Expo…I kept taking all of my digi-scrapping friends over to the talespring booth to show them (on the booth’s Ipad) how it worked. And I couldn’t wait to get home and share it with all of you. So here you go:
Here’s one of my Video Scrapbook Layouts:
Don’t forget after you’ve watched the video, listen to my “journaling” by clicking on the title “country”!
(clicking on it will take you to a site where you can “view” my video layout…be sure to come back)

Isn’t that COOL???
Here’s another one:
This was the first one I made. I gave the story it’s own button, but I think I’ll just use the title from now on.

SO…how do you do it? For digital scrapbookers, it’s pretty easy, but I’m sharing the things I learned with you in these 2 videos (because youtube won’t let me go over 15 minutes)
Part 1: Getting your page elements ready

Part 2: Putting it together with TaleSpring

And the best part? Making your first few* Video Scrapbook Layouts is FREE!
But right now TaleSpring & I are sponsoring a “Spread the Word Contest”. ONE winner will receive a 3 month subscription to TaleSpring’s extra storage space* & a $25 Gift Coupon to Chelle’s Creations. TWO winners will receive $10 Gift Coupons to Chelle’s Creations.
How do you enter? Let me enumerate the ways:
1. Comment on this blog.
2. Like and/or comment on this Facebook post, then come back and let me know you did it by posting on the blog.
3. Re-tweet my Tweet about how COOL Scrapping your Videos is…then come back and let me know you did it by posting on the blog.
4. Comment on this post, or this post, or this post or this post or this post or this post or this post…tell them how COOL scrapping your videos is! (for those you don’t have to come back here and tell me)
5. And the BEST way to enter (you can do them all, of course) is to MAKE YOUR OWN SCRAP-YOUR-VIDEOS layout! Come share it in your comment here and you will get TEN, that’s right TEN entries for sharing. WOO HOO!
Contest ends 10/15 midnight MDT.
Go do it. Right now. You know you want to. Your video scrapbook layout will be SO COOL! And it really doesn’t take that long…probably less time than my instructions. LOL!

*Talespring saves your layout on their servers for 2 reasons: 1) so you can edit it & 2) so you can share it via social media. You CAN just save your layouts to your own computer, then delete the “books”, images & videos that you used and start over…thus never going over the free storage space limits. (You will need a FREE talespring reader to view them…similar to Adobe’s Acrobat Reader for viewing .pdfs) Or you can purchase more space on their servers for a small monthly fee. (Enough space to store a TON of video scrapbook layouts)

Chelle’s NEW Rewards Program

Chelle’s NEW Rewards Program

The other day my family enjoyed a yummy loaf of pumpkin chocolate chip bread. It’s one of my favorite fall traditions. And why was it free? Because I have a punch card from my local Great Harvest Bread Co! I like how it works: I buy 12 loaves, I get one free. SO…
We are going to have a Chelle’s Rewards card!

(Right-click & save as to save your copy to complete)

Here’s how it works:

  • You buy products in my store
  • Fill out your rewards card for every qualifying purchase
  • Email me your card when it’s completely filled out
  • I’ll verify your purchases and then send you a $10 code to my store
  • Here’s a few examples of how it will look:

  • If you spend $5, you would put your invoice number in one of the $5 boxes.
  • If you spend $10, you would put your invoice number in one of the $10 boxes.
  • What if you spend $15? Then put the invoice number in one $5 box and one $10 box.
  • What about $30? Put the invoice number in three $10 boxes.
  • What if you spend $87.52? Put the invoice number in eight $10 boxes and one $5 boxes.
  • What if you spend $120? Wow, thank you very much! Fill out all the boxes on one card, and two $10 boxes on another card. Then email me the completed card for your reward code.
  • What if you run out of $5 spots? Once they’re filled up, they’re filled up. But you can still fill out the $10 spots.
  • What if you fill out your card? AWESOME! Email it to me for your $10 code. Then start a new card so & start filling out another one!
  • Some “fine print” you’ll want to pay attention to:

  • Invoices must be dated on or after 7-1-2011. (Yep, this card is retroactive … to a point. You can count any purchases you’ve made since I opened my store at ScrapOrchard!)
  • You are responsible for completing your own reward card.
  • You can’t round up. So, if you spend $9.59 in my store, you can only put your invoice number in a $5 box, not a $10 box. (So you might just want to bump that total up over $10 so you can get your reward faster.)
  • You many only use one invoice number per box. (So invoices have to total at least $5 to be able to count them on your rewards card.)
  • You can’t count the total before any discounts (’cause that’d be cheating, lol). Go by the final total — the amount you paid for Chelle’s Creations products.
  • Collabs count too! (I know, usually they’re excluded from all the fun stuff, but not this time.) The beauty of this reward system is that it doesn’t matter what you buy from my store … just the total amount of your order.
  • Scrap Orchard Megas do NOT count as a collab.
  • Offer subject to change at any time. (I don’t plan to change it … but you never know what could happen in the future, so I’m just adding this “cover-my-rear” statement, just in case.)
  • Thanks so much for being loyal Chelle’s Creations fans!

I’m sorry we had so much trouble with comments for this round. I’ve been working with my IT guy and I think we have it fixed. In the meantime I took the names of everyone who commented on blog posts this week AND on facebook and did a little drawing. Congratulations to CHALANE! Check your email for download links. :)

    Yummy Zucchini {or squash} Bread

Hi! It’s Krisi here and thought I would share a recipe I tried last week, and plan on making again – it was yummy!  Zucchini Bread, I actually made squash bread as I had a huge squash that needed using and making bread seemed like the best way to use it up.  Plus my kids gladly ate it!

    {photo from allrecipes.com – Marlena C}

I found the recipe at allrecipes.com  they have been around for quite awhile – before social media – but they have always had great participation leaving comments and recipe tweaks, going back to give ratings, etc. I love that when I need a recipe for something I can find it there – and see what others think – sometimes 1,000’s of other people. That was the case for this Zucchini bread. I was in a hurry and needed a great bread without spending much time searching.  So I pulled up allrecipes.com on my phone {I have my recipe box saved as an icon on my phone} and searched Zucchini Bread – tons of entries of course but I just looked down the list until I saw one with high ratings and lots of reviews.  I found this one {Mom’s Zucchini Bread} with 3,183 ratings and 5 stars, seems to me that something that 3,000 plus people have said is good it is worth a try!  So I got to work – and it did not disappoint.  As social media has grown the site has improved and changed as well, for the good, but it remains my #1 spot to find a recipe when I am in a hurry.

And here is the recipe that makes two loaves – you can also find it here at allrecipes.com

     Ingredients
    • 3 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    • 3 eggs
    • 1 cup vegetable oil
    • 2 1/4 cups white sugar
    • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 2 cups grated zucchini
    • 1 cup chopped walnuts
     Directions
    1. Grease and flour two 8 x 4 inch pans. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
    2. Sift flour, salt, baking powder, soda, and cinnamon together in a bowl.
    3. Beat eggs, oil, vanilla, and sugar together in a large bowl. Add sifted ingredients to the creamed mixture, and beat well. Stir in zucchini and nuts until well combined. Pour batter into prepared pans.
    4. Bake for 40 to 60 minutes, or until tester inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan on rack for 20 minutes. Remove bread from pan, and completely cool.
