Apple Of My Eye Playdate | Digital Scrapbooking Inspiration

Hello Ladies!

Have you seen Chelle’s newest kit? Love it! Love it! Love it! I remember the apple trees in our garden and around the house. I just loved those little tart green apples with salt sprinkled on them. I could eat them one after another. I would have to make myself stop eating them so I didn’t have some ‘natural’ consequences. My grandmother Mon, had a couple of crab apple trees. I think I tried to eat them once, but then we figured out how much more fun it was to stomp on them. Poor Grandma & Grandpa. They got to see all of us kids, but I don’t imagine they enjoyed the squashed apples on the sidewalk. Seems like we got smarter and jumped on the road so we weren’t in trouble. LOL! Let me show Chelle’s barrells of {apple} fun. The Quickies are FWP of the bundle. Hint! Make sure you snap the blog freebie also. I’ve linked them all up for you, just click on the images.

Chelle also created a new Digital Scrapbook Tutorial on Isolated & Selective Color. You can watch it by clicking on the video image.

For our CU friends, we offer CU Crepe. You’ll have to check it out.

Let me show you the absolutely darling inspiration from our Creative Team.

Phrases & Titles | Digital Scrapbooking Resources

Hello Everyone! Today I thought I would share some ideas for titles and phrases you might use for your LOs. I have the privilege of going through the galleries and looking at the ideas all of you come up with. Debbie Hodge suggests using the following list.

  1. Use your subject’s name
  2. Use Word Art
  3. Let handwritten “subject, date, place” suffice
  4. Let a pre-printed label or tag work as both title & embellishment
  5. Incorporate your title into your journaling block
  6. Put your title on a photo
  7. Span the width
  8. Use a pre-made label
  9. Use a font instead of alphas
  10. Jiggle, wrap, split and fix

Here’s a few ideas from Chelle’s CT Team. (The last 6 work well with Chelle’s product release on friday, September 21st.)

  • Popping in to say you’re great
  • You’re Beary nice/fun
  • You’re sweet (cupcakes)
  • Speeding by to say you’re great
  • I’m nuts about you (nuts from food for fans)
  • Owl love you (what a hoot)
  • Don’t be angry, be my friend (fly little birdie)
  • You’re a DINO-mite friend/kid/son(prehistoric)
  • An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away
  • Apple of my eye
  • Apple Harvest
  • Apple ____ Recipe card
  • You’re a hoot
  • What a hoot

Here are some other places you can check out. Peppermint Creative Scrapbook Art, Scrapbook.Com/Titles, The Perfect Title, Easy To Scrapbook & I Dream of Scrapbooking all have lists you can review. I Dream Of Scrapbooking had a title I thought was very funny, “The best antiques to collect are old friends.”

Here are some of my favorite Title & Phrasing LO’s by Chelle’s Creative Team using different ideas for titles. This LO is by KSCroppyChic. She used titles & lists to add in her LO.

Karen S. shows how phrasing can add to you LO.

I thought I’d show you a few of Chelle’s Word Art Designs just to give you some more ideas. My favorite is her “Golf” word art that has the golf ball as an “O” and the club used for an “L” in the word “GOLF.”

Hope you all found some inspiration! Talk to you soon!

Hugs!

Scrap Skills: Weaving | Digital Scrapbooking Skills

Maybe you’ll remember back in June, I wrote a post here about weaving elements on a digital scrapbooking page. Have you had a chance to try it? Do you need to see Chelle’s excellent videos again? There is one about linking charms here and one teaching you how to weave a string through grommets on a banner piece here. They are short, easy to watch during a coffee break, and very helpful for making a woven element look 3-D and realistic.

Maybe you just need a bit more inspiration? Chelle’s fabulously talented team members have been playing with these techniques again. First, Lynett made a double page and chose to weave a string around the alpha on her title. The string really helps to anchor her title to the photos, doesn’t it?2girlsLynett Just like Lynett, Erica also took a string and wove it around the title elements. Notice how this helps your eye go across the page following those adorable photos. Look at how well they each did the technique with the string going over and under the letters and shadowing the alphas that are covered just a bit.Mint Tea Template- by Little Green Designs
Lady Bug Hugs and E-I-E-I-O- by Chelle's CreationsNext, Jan wove strings all over her page. Take notice of that gorgeous black and white photo, but look also how the strings woven around the flower on the left and the two strings woven together on the right help to give a very realistic texture to the page. fr2Jan Next, Heather followed more of the Linking Charms video technique as she wove a string through the ice skate and tag in her mixed element title. It is very similar to the way Chelle described hanging a charm on the tassel in her video; very subtle, but oh so effective. mkfhof_ladieslp600cHeatherFinally, Jenn made a page using Chelle’s Oh Snap! kit, and she wove the honey ribbon hanger in and out of the negative strip element. Her shadowing is perfect on the ribbon, and her page truly looks 3-dimensional in every aspect. 7_2012_snap_600JennI hope this post has inspired you to hone your weaving skills to give your pages an enhanced, realistic feel. If you try this technique using Chelle’s kits, post your pages to Chelle’s Gallery at Scrap Orchard and let us know. We would love to see your pages and leave you some love!

Indian Summer Playdate | Digital Scrapbooking Inspiration

Hello Friends! Indian Summer is a favorite time of year for me. I love FALL! College Football, Tailgating, the World Series, temperatures dropping, and watching the leaves change from green to the brilliant hues of Yellow, Orange & Red. For many years, I lived in a community where the maple trees had both a green and a deep plum magenta leaf. When I first saw Chelle’s kit, I was immediately drawn to the magenta flower with the yellow in the center. It made me think of many “Decoration Day” flowers we take to family headstones to honor and remember our family. We put a lot or orange or plum/magenta on our male ancestors. Oh My Gosh! Do you need a new fall siggy? Chelle has you covered there as well. Let me show you you the goodies of the week.

Chelle has also been busy working on some fun and exciting CU items. I haven’t shown you some of them because we’ve been canning. Last Saturday Chelle canned salsa (40 quarts) and I was did (65 points) of beans. I know she’s been canning beans, corn and peaches also. Here are the CU products she’s released since I last did a playdate.

The first video explains why she created the Indian Summer Kit. Then Chelle has 2 new videos to help you with your scrapbooking. Here’s a link to each of them and to her YouTube Channel. Just click on the image.
