Hi Friends! Have you tried combining two (or more) of Chelle’s digital scrapbooking kits? This month we combined Chelle’s kits: Surfin’ USA & At the Beach. The sand, palm trees, sounds pretty good, right? Let me show you the layouts our creative team made combining these 2 kits. Naturally, they were singing along with the Beach Boy’s son, “Surfin; USA” while they were scrappin’.

I Write the Songs“ by Barry Manilow. I’ve been a ‘fanilow’ since I was in 5th grade. My teacher would play Copacabana on his record player every day during lunch. That year all I wanted for Christmas was a Barry Manilow record. By the time I was in high school, aerobics were super popular. I can still remember some the aerobics steps to this song which was a popular “cool-down” routine.

For our CU Friends, we have CU “Juvenile.” Retro is hot and this alpha is the perfect fit for the retro style. Add a hand drawn feel to your newest designs. These alpha doodles in a variety of styles will make it super easy for you to create the perfect alpha for your next kit.
Chelle’s Creations has so many alpha doodles to choose from in the store at Scrap Orchard. Today I’m going to share Chelle’s video tutorial with a few ways to add a little more pizazz to them. (Note some of the alphas in the video may no longer be available). Check out Chelle’s 10 tips.
Chelle’s very talented ladies have used some of the ideas in the video and here are the layouts they came up with.
Roxana (roxanamdm) created a a wooden look to the CU Sketched Alpha on the bottom of her page. On the upper layer she added a drop shadow, an inner shadow, an inner glow and some bevel and emboss. On the second layer she just added a drop shadow and clipped a paper to the doodle. She used the Black Belt kit for this page.
I enjoy seeing how the same template can be used but get a totally different look. Also using the Lay It On There {Singles} 1 & 2, Karen (zippoh) created this beautiful layout. For the layout she used Bug Town {mini kit} and Green Thumb. She took a flower and leaves from Green Thumb and shrunk them to use as accents on your title.

Just laying it on there. These fabulous single page templates look like you just tossed your photos right onto the page. White borders & curled shadows make your layouts look so dimensional you’ll want to touch them. Super versatile: Don’t like the white borders? Just fill that layer with !your photos and hide the gray photo spots layers for a completely different look! Don’t like the curled shadows? Just hide those layers and add your own shadows.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas is Chelle’s release for Scrap Orchard’s Iron Scrapper Week 1. Iron Scrapper Week One includes products based on songs from the 40’s and 50’s that have personal meaning to us. I chose the song “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas“ by Frank Sinatra. My mom is one of 7 sisters. They often sang double trios together, performing throughout the year, but especially at Christmas. I have many fond childhood memories of listening to Christmas songs including this one.
