Using Text Messages in Scrapbooking | Digital Scrapbooking Resources

Today I wanted to write about using text messages in your digital scrapbooking. Texts are such a part of our “smart” and everyday lives. 2 of my nieces actually taught me how to text. (not Chelle) We had a question and answer thread in our forum about how to move the text image so it can be inserted into a layout. This is how Kimberly (enjoyyourpix) explained it. {Thanks to her for the assist in explaining it.}

Screen shot is your best friend. Do you have an iPhone? If so, all you need to do is line up the text you want to save on your screen and hold down the power button on the top and the home button. The screen will kind of flicker/flash. If you go to your camera roll, you will see that the screen shot is in your camera roll. Move it to your computer like you move your photos and you are good to go. It is a png file.

Now let me show you the layouts the CT Ladies created. This is by Jan (QuiltyMom). She used Get Well Soon! Aren’t the x-rays a great addition. They really add depth to the layout. The arrow is from Big City.

Next, Heather used her text messages about homework and a conversation with her son. I think children everywhere can multitask homework and a video game. LOL She used Back 2 School.

Next I have Helen’s text message about winning the Lottery! Isn’t this a fun layout idea? She used Money Money. Papers and flower from CTR {Trek} and the alpha from Pearly Whites

September 2012 Desktop Freebies | Digital Scrapbooking Freebies

The kids are headed back to school this week… where did the summer go to? I hope you get a bit more warm weather before the cold descends!

This month I chose to use Chelle’s Back to School kit because, well, it’s perfect for a desktop this time of the year. I added in some flowers from her Rainbow Collection so that it’s not too “schooly” – hopefully it’s a good balance for everyone!

You can snag all three desktop sizes in one easy download here!

Have a super September!

Blessings! *Ü*

The “grey” space really draws your attention to the elements in the picture. Isn’t that locker to die for? Love her daughter wearing the Cap with jeans and a tank top.Last we have Shannon showing us a little 5th grade graduation love! Her use of the tassel really draws your eye to the girls pictures. The chalkboard and chalk alpha are a perfect match for the LO.

Back 2 School | DIgital Scrapbooking Classics

It’s graduation time! Hooray for the end of a school year and the beginning of new opportunities! I have just returned from my daughter’s college graduation, and I have begun the process of editing my photos from the big event because I really need to use my digital scrapbooking skills to show my love to her. My daughter even lamented the fact that she has lots of photos on social media sites but very few photos in print, so I am going to help her remedy that situation. I am looking at Chelle’s Back2School kit to help me with that project. It’s one of her classics, and although you might think of it for the beginning of school, I think it will be perfect for graduation photos, as well. Roxana thought so, too, and she made this marvelous double page spread of her child’s kindergarten graduation. I love that school bus and the different alphas used for the large title. The various buttons and clips used to “stick” the journal strips to the page really emphasize that this indeed was a tactile learning environment, full of wonderful memories.42-43-graduation-webRoxana

Melissa used the kit to commemorate her son’s 2nd grade year in school. The cluster of school elements – the locker, ruler, pencil, composition notebook, and backpack  – are appropriate here for a young child but would also work on a page for a high school student, as well. Look at his sweet smile! Grade-2Melissa

The primary colors in the kit make it coordinate with many of our daily pictures as well as school photos. Karen made a beautiful page about her cat Reggie, and the bright, bold colors make me think of many happy times I’m sure she had with her fur baby. Her large photo blend on the grid paper is outstanding, and the cluster of paper pieces under the smaller photo draw my eye to his sweet, peaceful face. Reggie2Karen

Here’s a closer look at the kit in the market (the image is linked to the store): cc_back2school_preview_2_post

Now, I need to get busy scrapping some memories of my daughter’s graduation. See you back here soon!

Hello Digiland! I am Julie and I present to you this week’s Unlikely Pairs! Today we will be viewing the combination of two (and an add on) of Chelle’s kits: “Prehistoric,” “Back 2 School,” and “Back 2 School: Fall Semester.” I know, dinosaurs and school?! Together? Not likely, right? Wrong! These two kits are wonderful together! Here are some layouts made by some of Chelle’s talented Creative Team members to show you how you can make beautiful pages with “unlikely pairs!”

First, take a look at the kits.

Now here are the layouts using these kits.
