If I were a …. | Digital Scrapbooking Words on Wednesday

If I were a…. what a great question to use to jump  start a digital scrapbooking interview with someone: a child, a parent, a or a grandparent. You can go absolutely anywhere with an open-ended question.I’ve thought of a few that might give you some ideas:

  • If I were a pair of dice …..
  • if I were a butterfly….
  • If i were an actor….
  • If I were a merry go round….
  • If I were a rich man…. (think Fiddler on the Roof)
  • If I were a judge’s gavel….
  • If I were a road construction cone…
  • If I were Miss Scarlet in the…. (think Clue)
  • If only I were a contestant on “Project Runway”….
  • If only I were the President of the United States….

Stuck with a picture you want to scrap, but can’t figure out a theme or an idea, try this idea out. I’ll bet you have some creative and intriguing layouts. I challenged 3 of our Creative Team members to share where “If-I-were-a….. ” ended up taking them. Check ’em out below:

Leah created this wonderful digital scrapbooking layout, “if only…”. I love the paper treatment and washed out castle. I Each of us could sit and look at this layout and daydream about “if only…” Leah (CatLady) She used Tea for Two & Carrot Patch

She used Carrot Patch & Tea for Two.

Next we have Kassie (Kass_23). Her big picture dominates that page and clearly shows her daughter’s joy in  being a “deer.” Isn’t that flower on the deer’s head in the corner adorable?

Kassie (Kass_23) She used In the Firest & ITF Alpha

She used In the Forest & INT Alpha.

The third layout is by Jenn J (jmljensen). Her layout tells of the family dog’s wish , “if only I were a boy.”  Wouldn’t it be great if our animals could talk and tell us what they think?

I know you’ll have a great time using the “if only I were…” prompt. Create a layout and upload into the gallery at Scrap Orchard. We really enjoy seeing what you design.

Tea for Two | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

“You’re invited to a tea party:  It’s Tea for Two.  Soft feminine colors & sweet elements highlight your sisters, friends, & grandmothers…a sweet kit for all of your treasured relationships.” That’s a quote directly from Chelle’s Creations store regarding the classic Tea for Two kit I want to highlight today. It is adorable and perfect for a host of digital scrapbooking projects.

Chelle’s creative friends have been playing with this kit, and their pages are adorable! Leslie had tea with her mom in England and took some photos of the yummy scones and the beautiful locale. She made a gorgeous page about this special event using Chelle’s Tea for Two kit and the matching word art. The theme of her page matches the theme of the kit perfectly. I love how she used the pink and yellow floral paper pieces separated by lace and ribbons to make the background of her page, and her shadowing of the flowers and leaves makes them look real enough to touch.LB2000-tea-in-England

Jen (supergirljennie) wanted to use this same kit to make a page about one her favorite pastimes: enjoying a cup of tea and a good book. And, even though she used this classic kit, her page is very modern.  I love that her photo shows a digital book reading device, and her journaling is in the form of a hashtag. Pages that show current trends are some of my favorites, and I love how Jen has used a modern-feeling quilt pattern with a classic kit for her page.supergirljennie-teafortwo_zpsdade2fdc

Another of Chelle’s team members named Jen (GrahamLiketheCracker) wanted to create a couple of special scrapbook pages about her precious little baby girl, and she also chose Tea for Two. Her pages are a collection of portrait photos of her daughter, and this kit complements her photos perfectly. The colors are soft and sweet, just like her little one. Take a close look at her two pages: I love how she used the tea cups as a banner on the second page. jen9076jen9067

Finally, Helen has a page to show us that made me chuckle. Her daughter refused to believe she couldn’t get into her baby doll stroller. I’m sure it was great fun for mom taking photos and watching this silly one try every possible angle of entry. Looks like she managed to get her feet in and was quite proud of herself! I love the word art strips she created around the page to tell the story. helentea-for-two-classics

Do you need this kit? You can see it is perfect for lots of occasions. I’m planning to go to a certain theme park in Orlando this summer, and I’ll use this kit to make pages about one of my favorite rides that involves spinning around in some crazy teacups. Can you guess what that might be? I can’t wait! Take a closer look at it in the market, and I’m sure you’ll see why I’m planning to use this kit. cc_teafortwo_kit

Hello Friends!
What a lovely kit Chelle made this week. A beautiful and lovely memory of times present and times past. Chelle’s Great Grandmother Pitcher (my grandmother) collected tea cups & saucers and had them placed about her house. A few years before she died, she gave each of her granddaughters one from her collection. This kit helps me travel back in time so Sunday afternoons at 4pm where we all gathered each to visit with Grandma Pitcher and our Aunts and cousins. You can choose the Tea for Two Bundle or pick them up individually: Tea for Two, Tea for Two Word Art, Tea For Two Ginghams, Tea for Two Freebie, & CU Curled Paper Flowers.
